Interpretation of Uroflow results

What is Qmax? What is a perfect flow?

While the total volume of the urination is measured in mL (milliliter), urine flow rate is measured in mL / sec, and Qmax is the highest flow rate measured during the session. That is to say, Qmax value is expressing the fastest flow rate measured in mL / s.

Weak flow = > Low Qmax

Slow urination speed = > Low Qmax

Flat urination chart = > Low Qmax

QmaxInterpretation*
higher than 15ml/sNormal
10-15 ml/sEquivocal
lower than 10ml/sObstruction or weak detrusor muscle
*General ‘rule of thumb’ interpretation. Please advise your doctor.
